Sustainability - Passive House Design

Passivhaus Design + Innovative product supply

We are strong advocates for Passivhaus and can design your new home to this amazing standard.

Passivhaus, literally passive house in English, refers to buildings created to rigorous energy efficient design standards.

Passivhaus buildings are so well constructed, insulated and ventilated that they retain heat from the sun, requiring very little additional heating or cooling.

More than just a home

Sustainability, wellness and the environment. It is crucial that we all contribute to reducing our carbon footprint and look after the plant that we all share. An eco home can do this and so much more.

JUWO - Monolithic Construction

The clay block building system for monolithic wall construction that is easy to build with, has excellent thermal insulation qualities and requires no cavities.

Why choose the JUWO Evolved SmartWall™ Thermoplan Clay Block System?

A house built of JUWO Evolved SmartWall™ Blocks provides a sustainable, comfortable living environment, using the benefits of Thermal Mass. Other notable benefits of the JUWO Evolved SmartWall™ clay block system are:

  • Structural
  • Effective acoustic insulation
  • Low moisture content
  • Extremely high compressive strengths
  • Speed of build/cost saving
  • Maximum fire protection
  • Ecological and sustainable building
  • Universal applications

Passive House

Buildings are a significant culprit of carbon emissions – accountable for 35% of total global energy consumption. Backed with over 30 years of international evidence, Passivhaus is a tried & tested solution that gives us a range of proven approaches to deliver net-zero-ready new and existing buildings optimised for a decarbonised grid and augmented for occupant health and wellbeing. Passivhaus buildings provide a high level of occupant comfort using very little energy for heating and cooling.
Passivhaus adopts a whole-building approach with clear, measured targets, focused on high-quality construction, certified through an exacting quality assurance process. For more on why adopting an efficient first approach is cruicial to meeting carbon targets.

EnerPHit is a slightly relaxed standard for retrofit projects, where the existing architecture and conservation issues mean that meeting the Passivhaus standard is not feasible.
